Download Software

Download the free webchat software from www.pjirc.com, this guide is for version PJIRC v2.1.1

Unzip and Upload

Unzip to your computer, then upload all the files to your webspace

Edit Html Code

We used the file HeavyApplett.html and changed the following line from <param name="host" value="irc.diboo.net"> to  <param name="host" value="irc.kwhs.co.uk"> for it to connect to our servers

You can add the following line in to make the webchat join your own chatroom, place this in the line after the <param name="host" value="irc.kwhs.co.uk">  :-

<param name="command1" value="/join #yourchatroomnamehere">

Do not change the word "command1"

Upload

Save the file HeavyApplett.html and upload it to your webspace (to where you uploaded the original files), you can rename this to webchat.htm if you wish.

Launch Webchat

Open the webpage in your browser that you just created…  If you have done this correctly then you will connect into our servers and be chatting in your very own chatroom.

Extra Tweak

As an extra tweak to customise the webchat to your website, we edited the file background.gif to one more suited to our logo, saved the file as the original name background.gif and uploaded it back to our website.
